Am I a good fit for this practice?Kardia Integrative Psychiatry is equipped to treat a range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related syndromes, attentional issues, irritability, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems, and poor stress tolerance. However, our practice may not be the best fit for individuals experiencing severe or acute conditions such as active or chronic psychosis, acute mania, severe mood instability, behavioral deregulation, or chronic suicidality. If you are experiencing any of these conditions, we recommend seeking immediate help from a facility specialized in acute psychiatric care.

Do you offer emergency or after-hours coverage?Kardia Integrative Psychiatry is not an acute care or emergency facility, and we do not have staff available 24 hours a day. We do not offer emergency or after-hours coverage. If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, or any other urgent matter, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. What kind of treatments do you offer?We offer a range of services including medication management, individual psychotherapy, couple and family therapy, nutritional psychiatry, functional medicine evaluations, and wellness coaching, among others. Do you offer telehealth services?Yes, we provide telehealth services to clients who prefer to receive care remotely. This option allows you to access our services from the comfort of your own home while maintaining the same level of privacy and confidentiality as in-person sessions.

Do you prescribe controlled substances?At Kardia Integrative Psychiatry, we prescribe controlled substances when clinically appropriate, and we regularly check the prescription drug monitoring database to ensure safety and compliance. We are not obligated to continue treatment plans initiated by other clinicians and reserve the right to terminate the clinical relationship if there is any diversion, improper obtaining, or misuse of controlled substances. All clients prescribed controlled medications must sign an agreement outlining proper use. Please note, due to legislative requirements, at least one in-office visit is necessary to prescribe controlled substances.

Do you provide letters for Emotional Support Animals (ESAs)?At Kardia Integrative Psychiatry, we currently do not provide letters for Emotional Support Animals. We focus on providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and various therapeutic services tailored to each individual's needs. For assistance with ESA letters, we recommend contacting a provider who specializes in this service.

How can I book an appointment?We offer convenient online self-scheduling. Please click the link “book appointment” to schedule. If you need assistance with this, please call our office. We strive to accommodate new and existing clients with timely appointments to suit their schedules.

Do I need to complete all the paperwork prior to my appointment?Yes, we require all paperwork to be completed and submitted prior to your appointment to ensure that we can provide the most efficient and effective care during your visit. Completing your paperwork in advance allows us to review your medical history, symptoms, and any other relevant information, which helps us tailor our approach to your specific needs. Please make sure to submit all documents through the secure portal provided or bring them with you to your first visit.

What should I expect during my first visit?Your first visit will involve a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation to understand your health history, current symptoms, and overall lifestyle. This session helps us to craft a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your health needs and goals.

What if I need to reschedule my appointment?If you need to reschedule your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible, at least 48 business hours in advance, to avoid any cancellation fees and to allow us to offer the slot to another client. You can reschedule by calling our office directly or sending a message via Spruce, depending on your preference. Our staff will assist you in finding a new appointment time that fits your schedule. We strive to accommodate your needs while ensuring that we can provide the best care to all of our clients. Please be aware that missed appointments or cancellations with less than 48 business hour notice may be subject to a $125 fee.If 3 appointments are missed without adequate (48 business hours) you are subject to dismissal from the practice.

How do I communicate with my provider?To ensure efficient and secure communication, we use Spruce, a healthcare communication platform designed specifically for client-provider interactions. Spruce allows you to communicate directly with your provider via secure messaging, share files, and even engage in video calls, all within a secure and HIPAA-compliant environment. You will receive an invitation to join Spruce upon starting your treatment with us, and detailed instructions on how to use the platform will be provided to help you get started.

How do I get a refill of my medication?To request a refill of your medication, please contact your pharmacy directly. The pharmacy will then communicate with our office if any additional information or approval is needed to complete your refill. This process helps ensure that you continue your treatment without interruption. Please allow up to 5 business days for refill requests to be processed.

Do you accept insurance?We accept a variety of insurance plans. Please contact our office with your insurance details so we can verify your coverage and provide you with specific information regarding your benefits and any potential out-of-pocket costs.

What forms of payment do you accept?We accept several forms of payment, including credit cards, checks, and cash. Payment details, including co-pays and billing procedures, are discussed during the initial visit and as part of our ongoing communication.

Do you provide super bills?Yes, at Kardia Integrative Psychiatry, we provide super bills upon request for clients who wish to submit a claim for out-of-network benefits to their insurance provider. A super bill is a detailed invoice of the services rendered, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please let us know if you require a super bill, and we will ensure it is prepared for you after your session.

Where are you located?Our office is located at 1193 Pearl St, Eugene, OR 97401. We offer a welcoming environment that reflects our commitment to your comfort and privacy. While there is not dedicated parking for the building, there is ample on street parking.

Is your office ADA accessible?We are committed to providing a welcoming and accessible environment for all our clients, including those with disabilities. While my office is not ADA accessible, I am able to provide services in alternate accessible office or via telehealth. Please contact us prior to scheduling an appointment so we can ensure your visit is as convenient and comfortable as possible.
